About this event

Private tutoring for critical appraisal. We offer individual 1-hour sessions to support you in your development when appraising research evidence. They are intended to address questions arising from a critical appraisal or help you to prepare for an upcoming exam.

What is CASP one-to-one support?

One-to-one support is a way of getting individual, private sessions to help you improve confidence and interpret the results when appraising research evidence.

CASP One-to-One

CASP One-to-One is a unique critical appraisal skills training service for individuals. It gives you access to one of our highly skilled trainers for online training tailored to your exact requirements. CASP is committed to delivering results and making your critical appraisal skills high quality. You will gain life-long skills to appraise research papers with confidence.

Your agenda

The agenda will be adjusted to spend time on topics or concepts from the paper of your choosing. One training session lasts 1 hour, and you will be expected to have informed us of your critical appraisal questions 1 week in advance.

Your location

We can connect by phone, or virtually using Teams or Zoom technology. Our trainers are based in the UK, so time zones will be set in GMT.

Your source material

If there is a specific paper you would like help with, you will be required to send us the link or PDF to the paper in advance of the session.

The price of CASP One-One reflects the personalised nature of the training with an expert.

Recommendations

After the training session has ended, we can offer advice on what further training you may benefit from attending/enrolling in. Whether this be another CASP One-to-One session, online training modules, or attending a group CASP workshop, we would be happy to offer a discount on future training.

Exclusions

CASP One-to-One cannot be used to complete work for an academic programme or examination on behalf of the customer. For example, we will not ghostwrite essays or literature reviews, and we can’t complete the critical appraisals for you. We can help and guide you to complete these on your own, to what the pertinent issues are regarding methodology of the study and interpretation of the results.

Alternative option

If the price of CASP One-to-One is out of your budget, consider sharing the cost of a bespoke event with like-minded colleagues, or attending a CASP group workshop.

Is CASP One-to-One suitable for you?

The majority of people booking individual training sessions are senior doctors and dentists who have failed postgraduate exams and cannot afford to fail again. Often the doctors and dentists are preparing for exit exams and Consultant posts have been lined up if they pass.
