More Virtual Workshop Dates added…


New virtual workshops have just gone live for the upcoming months. Workshops are available on the critical appraisal of Qualitative Studies, Randomised Controlled Trials, & Systematic Reviews. We also have added some workshops concentrating on Making Sense of Results, where we will take basic results from a research paper to calculate various measures of risk. These workshops take place over 3 1/2 hours, with very small numbers to allow for optimal participant to trainer communication. Updated RCT Checklist


Take a look at our newly updated RCT checklist. Following a review by Erica Ison & Penny Grey, and by using feedback from the CASP community, we have made some slight changes to the overall structure and content, and some changes to terminology. Training on teaching skills for critical appraisal


Our next 'Train the Trainer' course is now open for bookings! These workshops take place over 3 days and help develop teaching skills for learning critical appraisal. During the workshops you will experience a typical CASP (critical appraisal skills) workshop appraising a published paper, followed by a deconstruction of the methods and content. Sessions continue on; different appraisal tools for different study designs, making sense of the results and statistics used in health research, using interactive approaches in critical appraisal teaching, adapting CASP materials for different audiences including patients, carers and the public; teaching practice and peer to peer feedback.
